UFC named Fanatics VP/Venue Business Development PAUL ASENCIO VP/Global Partnerships. Asencio spent the last two years with Fanatics, and before that spent 17 years with the Mets, most recently as Senior VP/Corporate Partnerships, Sales & Services (THE DAILY).

CHIP SHOT: Chip Ganassi Racing named LST Marketing CEO JOHN LOPES Exec VP, a role that will see him focus on business development across CGR’s various teams in NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA and Red Bull GRC. The Indianapolis-based Lopes will retain a non-Exec Chair title at LST, the agency formerly known as Andretti Sports Marketing that acquired Dallas-based PPI Marketing earlier this year. CGR is in search of sponsorship as it recovers from the loss of longtime partner Target (Adam Stern, Staff Writer).

OLD COLLEGE TRY: Hofstra Univ. named Monmouth Univ. Assistant AD/Compliance SAMANTHA HEGMANN Assistant AD/NCAA Education & Compliance Services (Hofstra)....The National Football Foundation's College Football 150th Anniversary group, which is organizing celebrations planned for '19, named College Sports Information Directors of America President ROB CAROLLA Dir of Communications. The organization also named former Silver Chalice Dir of Marketing for Campus Insiders & ACC Digital Network NATALIE JENKINS Dir of Marketing, while Old Dominion Athletics Operations & Events Coordinator KAYLAH HUGHES was named Administrative Manager (NFF).

EXECS: The Single-A Carolina League named GEOFF LASSITER President. Lassiter comes from the Carolina League Winston-Salem Dash, where he had the same role. He will succeed JOHN HOPKINS, who has held the role since '84. The Dash are promoting VP/Ticket Sales C.J. JOHNSON to replace Lassiter (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/4)....A source said that the Cavaliers named Jazz Player Personnel & Player Programs Coordinator ANDRAE PATTERSON Dir of Basketball Administration (CLEVELAND.com, 10/4)....The World Golf Foundation named former PGA Tour VP/Communications JAMES CRAMER to the same role (THE DAILY)....Former Fox Sports VP/Business & Legal Affairs BOBBY HACKER has launched a new practice, Robert A. Hacker, Attorney at Law + Sports Media Consulting (THE DAILY)....The AHL Rochester Americans have "parted ways" with VP/Business Operations ROB KOPACZ, who has held the position since '11 (RBJ.net, 10/4)....Red Sox Foundation Exec Dir GENA BORSON will be leaving at the end of the year (Red Sox)....The Oilers Community Foundation named Edmonton Chamber of Commerce President & CEO JANET RIOPEL to its BOD (Oilers).
