Daughter Of Ken Stabler Starting Alabama-Based Sports Agency, Hopes To Rep NFLers

Alexa Stabler, the daughter of late Pro Football HOFer Ken Stabler, has launched Stabler Sports and "hopes to begin representing NFL players and prospects soon," according to Creg Stephenson of the Mobile PRESS-REGISTER. Alexa Stabler recently passed the NFL player agent certification exam and said she is "hoping to start" the agency "locally" in the Mobile area. She added, "There are about 20 guys actively playing in the NFL from Mobile or Baldwin County. The pipeline is strong with more to head that way." After his death, it was revealed Ken Stabler had CTE, and his daughter said, "My dad is 100 percent the reason I am doing this. I grew up the daughter of a professional athlete and I saw what happened after football -- meaning what happened physically, mentally, emotionally, financially. I've seen that repeated in my dad's teammates and other players. And I saw some judgment calls that maybe could have been made differently. ... I feel like this is a great marriage of my professional life as an attorney and my personal life as the daughter of a professional athlete. And I just want to make a better life for my clients." Stephenson notes Alexa Stabler is "certified to begin representing clients now, though she cannot solicit business with those already under representation agreements with another agent until 60 days before their current contract expires." Consequently, she is "likely to focus on younger clients as opposed to veterans" (Mobile PRESS-REGISTER, 10/5).
