San Francisco 49ers’ ampm Store Features Augmented Reality Cups

When fans attend a San Francisco 49ers game at Levi’s Stadium, they will find something brand new on the main concourse — a convenience store. The store, which has opened through a partnership with ampm, will offer more than 70 items including snacks, candy, chocolate, soft drinks, beer and ampm exclusives.

One of those exclusive items will be an augmented reality souvenir cup. By downloading the latest version of the 49ers mobile app on iOS or Android devices and scanning the special collector’s cup, fans will be able to watch it come to life — showing them content like videos from 49ers great Tom Rathman’s playing days.

The 49ers brought in the augmented reality cups after last year handing out augmented reality trading cards at the Team Store at Levi’s Stadium.

In addition to the content fans will receive from the cups, they will get .49 cent fountain refills at participating ampm locations all season long, and when the 49ers complete their first interception or fumble recovery of each game, fans seated in a certain section will get a voucher for free food or beverage items redeemable at ampm within 49 hours.

“We are thrilled that ampm will be joining the 49ers family this year,” Donna Sanker, Chief Marketing Officer for BP Fuels North America, said in a statement. “We believe that 49ers fans will love all the Good Stuff ampm has to offer with a quick and easy experience at the stadium and at all our locations throughout Northern California. We’re excited about the prospect of turning the 49er Faithful to loyal ampm fans.”
