Going Off The Grid: College Football Analysts On Top Storylines, Best Restaurants

"Going Off The Grid" is a weekly survey of sports execs and personalities offering their thoughts on a handful of pressing (and trivial) issues in sports and pop culture. With college football kicking off this month, THE DAILY polled four experts on this season's biggest storylines and their pick for national champion.

  • CBS Sports' Adam Zucker
    – Pop culture interests include disc golf and Phish.
  • ESPN's Mark Schlabach
    – Fan of Widespread Panic, Pearl Jam, "Game of Thrones," and "Stranger Things."
  • FS1's Jenny Taft
    – Can't get enough of "Game of Thrones."
  • Chicago Tribune's Teddy Greenstein
    – Best show he is currently watching is HBO's "Insecure."

Going Off The Grid
Biggest storyline this season? Best stadium to watch a game? Favorite uniform? Favorite restaurant to eat at on a road trip? National champion?

Zucker
Only four active head coaches have won titles. Can anyone else join the club? Lane Stadium Michigan by day, LSU by night Hot & Hot Fish Club in Birmingham Alabama

Schlabach
Year of the QB. Can Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, etc., live up to the hype? Rose Bowl or Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night Alabama Last Resort in Athens Ohio State

Taft
Will Sam Darnold live up to the hype? My thoughts -- yes Camp Randall Stadium. Nothing better than "Jump Around!" Notre Dame. Classic and traditional Mickies Dairy Bar in Madison Ohio State

Greenstein
Will Ohio State rise back to the top after the bitter pill served by Clemson? Camp Randall Northwestern purple (I'm biased) Shapiro's Deli in Indianapolis USC
