Fanchest Partners With Three Learfield Schools For University-Branded Sports Gift Baskets

Brooklyn-based Fanchest has officially entered the college space through a partnership with Learfield that will see the sports gift basket company offer its products for Cal, North Dakota State and Wichita State. Each school will promote Fanchest through stadium signage, email and digital campaigns, as well as their baskets, which retail from $59-250. Fanchest co-Founder Dan Weinberg said school graduates are their top target. “We really are going after the alumni versus the students,” he said. Learfield first reached out to Fanchest 3-4 months ago about partnering with the company, which works with over 100 officially licensed brands. Fanchest is in talks with a dozen other schools at the moment. Weinberg said Fanchest’s priorities will lie in the college space for the rest of this year and into '18, as there is "so much opportunity" in the space. Learfield Regional VP Brad Coley said, "I would hope and expect that down the road, we'll see other Learfield partners working with Fanchest." Weinberg added, "We have big expectations in that we want to grow, (and) we think there’s so much in college." He added that a large majority of Fanchest purchasers are female. The company launched two years ago and has grown to about 10 employees.
