PepsiCo Is Launching A Snapchat-Based NFL Promotion

PepsiCo Gamifies Beverages and Snacks This NFL Season With “They Win, You Score” (PRNewsfoto/Frito-Lay North America)

For this NFL season, fans will be able to play a weekly game on their Snapchat app for a chance to win Super Bowl LII tickets.

Potential participants can partake by Snapchatting an on-product code present on specifically marked Frito-Lay products and 20 oz. bottles and 15-pack 7.5 oz. mini-cans of Pepsi. They will then be assigned a random NFL team — if that team wins its upcoming game, the participant wins an award and his or her entry will be entered into a weekly drawing for prizes that includes season tickets and Super Bowl LII tickets.

“The rise of off-the-field games have taken the NFL viewing experience to the next level — and gamified it,” Frito-Lay senior director of marketing Christina Clarke said in a statement. “But snacking is also a huge part of the viewing experience, so we wanted to join the two and offer an engaging gamified digital program.”

Consumers in this promotional event will also unlock an exclusive Snapchat filter. The promotion will be available through Oct. 7 and return for the playoffs in December and January.
