Arccos Driver Tuning Uses Artificial Intelligence For Club-Fitting

Arccos Driver — a program that deduces the precise location of one’s golf drive at more than 40,000 courses — has announced two new features: Driver Tuning, which recommends weight and loft adjustments based on conditions and courses, and Long Drive Leaderboards, which allows golfers to compare driving distances with one another across multiple holes, courses and countries.

The on-course club-fitting from Driver Tuning uses artificial intelligence. It utilizes a player’s settings and previous on-course performance to recommend shot angle and strength adjustments, and is offered exclusively for the COBRA CONNECT program for Arccos users with Cobra KING F7 and F7+ drivers.

“The vast majority of golfers don’t have access to a custom-fitting specialist. That’s why, according to Golf Digest, the average player leaves 23 yards on the table by not having the right driver settings,” Arccos CEO Sal Syed said in a statement. “On-course data is a much better method for informing the fitting process versus what’s captured in a hitting bay or on the driving range. When you combine that with artificial intelligence, it becomes even more powerful.”

Long Drive Leaderboards has three features: Tournament & Outings, which is specific to users of the Arccos Driver at one course on a specific date, Invitiation-Only, which is designed for a closed group of competitors, and Sponsored, which is an open competition between all Arccos Driver users during a set time and/or geography.

Arccos had recently released a number of updates for its Caddie feature, which now utilizes artificial intelligence to aid in a golfer’s shot.
