Charissa Thompson Reportedly Staying At Fox After Being Sought By ESPN

Charissa Thompson is "staying at Fox Sports" after having been the subject of "plenty of sports media speculation over the last few months" regarding her future, according to Richard Deitsch of SI.com. Thompson's contract with Fox was "reported to expire at the end of the year." Sources said that ESPN's Mike Greenberg was "very interested in having Thompson work on his upcoming solo show" that debuts Jan. 1. Thompson previously worked at ESPN from '11-13. Deitsch noted it is "believed she will continue as the host" of "Fox NFL Kickoff," which airs at 11:00am ET and leads into "Fox NFL Sunday." The likelihood is any new deal also "includes additional appearances throughout the network." Thompson earlier this week recently "announced she was leaving the Hollywood news magazine Extra" (SI.com, 8/9). In N.Y., Hannah Withiam notes Thompson has "said repeatedly she feels a loyalty to Fox Sports, where she first started working in 2006, for being the first network to give her a chance on air" (N.Y. POST, 8/10).
