Start Your Engines: Milwaukee-Based Harley-Davidson To Appear On Bucks Jerseys

The Bucks have "signed a jersey advertisement patch deal with motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson" that will see the company's "iconic orange, white and black logo ... appear on the team's white, green and black jerseys," according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Harley-Davidson was "founded in Milwaukee, and the company's corporate headquarters are located there" (ESPN.com, 8/10). In Milwaukee, Matt Velazquez reports discussions between the Bucks and Harley-Davidson "began this spring and rapidly progressed toward the deal, which was formally announced at the Harley-Davidson Museum" today. Harley-Davidson Dir of U.S. Marketing & Market Development Anoop Prakash: "It moved quickly and I think it was because it was such a natural fit. We’ve been partners for some time and, again, as you think about what this is it’s two iconic Milwaukee brands who have played above their weight nationally and globally for many years." Velazquez notes Harley-Davidson has been "noticeable at Bucks games at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in the past, most notably with the team’s mascot, Bango, riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the court during a timeout in the fourth quarter of each game." That level of in-arena sponsorship "will continue, along with Harley-Davidson branding appearing on the team’s digital platforms and title sponsorship of the team’s to-be-named fan squad." The Bucks are the 12th NBA team to announce their jersey sponsor for next season (JSONLINE.com, 8/10).
