N.Y.-based investment firm Allen & Co. has "received several expressions of interest" from parties looking to purchase a controlling stake in the Nets from Owner Mikhail Prokhorov, according to sources cited by Josh Kosman of the N.Y. POST. Prokhorov "hoped to fetch around" $2B, but "one interested party has been trying to box out others in the sale process." A source said that Alibaba Exec Vice Chair Joe Tsai has "expressed an interest in the team, though reps for his family office, Blue Pool, deny it." Sources also "suggest the Nets want to find a Chinese backer" (N.Y. POST, 8/6).
