Octagon recently moved its HQ from Norwalk to Stamford, Conn., and the decision for Octagon represents a "return to its roots," according to Paul Schott of the STAMFORD ADVOCATE. The late June opening of the waterfront hub in the Shippan Landing complex "represents one of the city’s largest corporate arrivals of the year and a vote of confidence in the area from a business with a fast-growing presence in its field." After a decade in Stamford, it "moved to Norwalk" in '04. An expiring lease and a "need to be more accessible to its workforce prompted another look last year at plans for a new home." Stamford also "appealed because of its large contingent of millennial workers and residents, a demographic heavily represented at Octagon." Octagon Chair & CEO Rick Dudley said, "We recruit a lot of young people from New York. And with the transportation hub being right up the street, we think it’ll make it easier to recruit from here." Within Stamford, Octagon "needed to find a well-maintained base with a range of amenities that could accommodate some 275 employees." The firm has "taken about 57,000 square feet on the entire third floor and second level." Employees "work in open-floor layouts."
