Blue Star Sports Continues Growth By Acquiring Global Apptitude, Other Companies

Texas-based software and technology company Blue Star Sports has purchased an additional four companies, bringing its acquisition total to 18 since its formation last year. The new members of the Blue Star Sports portfolio include Maryland-based software developer Global Apptitude, and a trio of running event planners and electronic timing companies: North Carolina-based On The Mark Sports, DC-based Amazing Race Timing and Oregon-based Rogue Multisport. Global Apptitude is the developer of the GamePlan digital playbook technology used by more than 150 college and pro teams, while the latter set of deals expands Blue Star Sports’ presence in endurance sports and race management. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisitions follow a recent set of transactions in which the NFL invested through its 32 Equity arm in the company, whose investors also include Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones. Blue Star Sports also bought youth sports publisher Stack. Blue Star Sports Founder & CEO Rob Wechsler said the company has "changed the entire youth sports landscape by bringing the best companies and entrepreneurs under one roof to give our customers a competitive advantage.”
