Missouri Football Returning To Arrowhead Stadium In '24 For Game Against BC

Missouri AD Jim Sterk yesterday confirmed that the football team "will return to Arrowhead Stadium" in '24 with a game against Boston College, according to Tod Palmer of the K.C. STAR. Sterk said that he "isn't opposed occasionally to moving games off campus to the state of Missouri's largest population centers, including plans to resume a series against Illinois in St. Louis." Sterk said he has "had discussions" with Illinois AD Josh Whitman about playing a game in St. Louis, but "we haven't gotten a date." Sterk also said that he was "interested in restarting the Border War with Kansas." However, Sterk yesterday noted that he has "never had a dialogue" with Kansas AD Sheahon Zenger about the possibility. MU's last game in K.C. -- against BYU in November '15 -- "failed to meet revenue expectations in the wake of a brief boycott" by Mizzou players earlier in the week that "threatened to cancel the game" (K.C. STAR, 6/29). In Missouri, Daniel Jones notes the game at Arrowhead Stadium in '24 "apparently stems" from the BYU game. Sterk "confirmed there was a connection but wouldn't clarify if it had to do with a breach of contract for the BYU game or for some other reason" (COLUMBIA DAILY TRIBUNE, 6/29).
