FS1 Lands First Bowl Game After Holiday Bowl Ends Long Association With ESPN

The San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl "will be televised" by FS1 this year, ending a long run on ESPN, according to Jay Posner of the SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE. It had been the "longest-running partner" in ESPN history, but the contract expired after the '16 game. The only available date on ESPN’s schedule "appeared to be Dec. 26, but the Holiday has not been played that early since it switched to a post-Christmas date" in '86. This year's game kicks off at 6:00pm PT on Dec. 28, and ESPN "has the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio slated at the same time the Holiday will be played." Wasserman Media Group consulted with the SDCCU Holiday Bowl "on the arrangement" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 6/16). The Holiday Bowl will be FS1's first bowl game (THE DAILY).
