In Miami, Adam Beasley notes the Dolphins have "notified the league" that they will use their '66 uniforms for two games this season, the most allowed by NFL rules. However, a permanent change back to the team's old colors "isn’t happening in the foreseeable future." Dolphins President & CEO Tom Garfinkel said, "You can't just change uniforms on a whim. I'd say we're listening to fans, we evaluate everything and we're open minded, but as of right now, there's no plans to change." Meanwhile, the Dolphins will be in "all white for their designated Color Rush game" against the Ravens on Oct. 26 (MIAMI HERALD, 6/8).
MOVING THE CHAINS: USA TODAY's Jarrett Bell notes Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam III is "committed" to Exec VP/Football Operations Sashi Brown and coach Hue Jackson for the "long haul" following a 1-15 season, the duo's first with the club. Haslam: "The plan is in place." Haslam also "maintains that he’s felt some of the same love from Cleveland fans" that the Cavaliers and Indians are "receiving despite his franchise’s struggles." He said, "The support has probably been better than it should be. They’ve stuck with us" (USA TODAY, 6/8).
JET AIRLINER: In N.Y., Manish Mehta writes Jets Owner Woody Johnson "should be commended for getting on board" with a team rebuild. Johnson is "finally taking the right approach by not slapping band-aids on open wounds that require radical reconstructive surgery." Stripping it down is the "smart way to move forward." However, LB David Harris, who was released by the Jets earlier this week, "deserved much better treatment." The Jets "should have cut him months ago before free agency if this was all about saving money during a lost season" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 6/8). CBS Sports Network's Adam Schein said, "They are unofficially tanking. The Jets are trying to be the worst in New York City in a salary cap league" ("Time To Schein," CBSSN, 6/7).
