Penguins-Predators Game 4 Overnight Rating Sees 32% Increase Compared To '16

NBC last night drew a 4.1 overnight rating for the Predators' 4-1 win over the Penguins, marking the second-best Stanley Cup Final Game 4 figure since NBC Sports took over NHL rights prior to the '05-06 season. During that time, there have been several schedule adjustments for the Final, with NBC airing six Game 4s during that time and NBCSN airing the other six. The 4.1 overnight is up 32% from a 3.1 last year for NBC's Penguins-Sharks Game 4, which also aired on a Monday night. The 4.1 ranks only behind a 4.9 overnight for Blackhawks-Bruins Game 4 on NBC in '13, which aired on a Wednesday night. Last night's game is expected to give NBC a win in primetime among all nets. Pittsburgh led all markets with a 30.9 local rating for Game 4, while Nashville drew a 28.0 rating. That 28.0 marks the highest-rated Predators' game ever on an NBC network.
