Buyers & Sellers: NFL Exec Joe Lockhart Sells To Obamas; Cutler Selling Chicago-Area Home

NFL Exec VP/Communications JOE LOCKHART has sold his home in the Kalorama area of DC to PRESIDENT OBAMA and his wife MICHELLE, who had been renting the home after leaving the White House. Lockhart sold the home for $8.1M after buying it in '14 for $5.295M. The eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bath home was built in the 1920s and renovated in '11. Lockhart had a previous stint as Press Secretary to PRESIDENT CLINTON (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 5/31). The "sprawling Tudor home" now "includes an au pair suite, sprawling gardens, an oversized terrace, a two-car garage and a 'gated motor court for 8 to 10 vehicles" (HUFFINGTONPOST.com, 5/31).

CUT ABOVE THE REST: Fox NFL analyst JAY CUTLER and his wife, KRISTIN CAVALLARI, placed their "seven-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot mansion" in Lake Forest, Ill., on the market for $4.75M. Cutler paid $4.25M in January '14 for what at that time was a "newly built 16-room mansion on a cul-de-sac in east Lake Forest, close to Lake Michigan." The three-story mansion is on a 1.5-acre wooded lot and "has 8-1/2 baths, five fireplaces, a lower-level sport court with a half-court basketball court and a 17-foot ceiling, a theater room, a wine cellar and a three-car garage" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 5/28).

UPSTATE SALES: 49ers GM JOHN LYNCH is selling his Englewood, Calif., home for $2.99M. The 8,718-square-foot home in a gated community "has six bedrooms and eight baths." It features a "large great room, multiple suites, entertainment room and wine cellar among many other amenities." The property was purchased in '04 for $2.2M (MERCURYNEWS.com, 5/25)....Former NFLer TRENT DILFER has "sold his Saratoga, Calif. mansion" for $6.8M. The 5,460-square-foot Spanish-style property has "five bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths." It features "four bedroom suites, two levels of grand formal rooms, a bocce court and vineyard" (MERCURYNEWS.com, 5/30).

COME ONE, COME ALL: NFL free agent G ORLANDO FRANKLIN put his estate in the Poway area north of downtown San Diego "back up for sale" at $1.895M. The wide back of the 6,532-square-foot home "opens to a resort-like setting that includes a free-form swimming pool and spa, a fire pit and an outdoor dining area with a barbecue island." Tropical plantings, lawns and a horseshoe pit "fill out grounds of more than an acre." It has a "great room with beamed ceilings, a game room and an eat-in kitchen" (LATIMES.com, 5/25)....Late former NASCAR exec BETTY JANE FRANCE's home in Daytona Beach -- "featuring a fully furnished 17,000-square-foot mansion and a 1,700-square-foot guest house" on 3.8 acres -- "goes on the auction block Saturday." The property has an assessed value of $5.5M (Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL, 5/30)....Former NBAer CHARLIE VILLANUEVA has "listed his home" in Davie, Fla., for $3.25M (NYPOST.com, 6/1).
