Triple-A Charlotte Knights Benefiting From Marketing Prowess Of Phenom Moncada

T-shirts of Triple-A Int'l League Charlotte Knights 2B Yoan Moncada -- Baseball America's No. 1 prospect -- featuring his name and No. 10 on the back are "now on their fourth or fifth order, which has doubled in size" about a month and a half into the season, according to Pat James of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. Knights COO Dan Rajkowski said that the first shipment "consisted of about four or five dozen shirts." Moncada is only the second Knights player to have "such an item" sold, following P Carlos Rodon, who made his Knights debut in August '14 and is now in MLB with the parent club White Sox. Rajkowski: "Historically jerseys don’t sell in the minor leagues with names on them. But when you’re touting the No. 1 prospect in all of minor league baseball, it was worth a shot on the first order" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 5/17).
