CBS Shakes Up Pregame Show Once Again With Nate Burleson Replacing Bart Scott

Former NFLer Nate Burleson is joining CBS Sports as an analyst on "The NFL Today" pregame show. He will also contribute to CBS Sports Network's "That Other Pregame Show" on Sunday mornings. Burleson currently serves as a co-host of NFL Network's "Good Morning Football," and he will remain in that role in addition to his new CBS duties (CBS). Burleson replaces Bart Scott on the CBS pregame show, marking the show's second change "since the end of last season." Tony Gonzalez "left for personal reasons" and was replaced by Phil Simms (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 5/7). Burleson this morning said he was "honored" to be joining the show, adding, "There’s only a few trademark shows in all of sports, and this is one of them." He noted he brings a "little bit to the table that’s going to add to an already fantastic crew. Being a young guy in this new chapter of my life, being an infant in TV, it’s a blessing to be working with guys like that. I look up to them” (“Good Morning Football,” NFL Network, 5/8). NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted: "Very cool announcement." Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett: "Good to hear ... Burleson getting an even bigger role on TV. Everyone kinda knew he had it in him." DetroitLions.com's Tim Twentyman: "Good move by CBS. Burleson has become a great analyst in his post-football career." Minneapolis Star Tribune's Jim Souhan: "So Randy Moss and Nate Burleson are now network analysts. Best talker on 2004 Vikings, tho, was not either of them, but Jermaine Wiggins."
