Buyers & Sellers: CBS Sports' Jim Rome Sells His Irvine Mansion For $12.5M

CBS Sports' JIM ROME has sold his home in Irvine, Calif., for $12.5M. The roughly one-acre property "takes in city, golf course and mountain views and includes a sprawling villa of 12,300 square feet, an attached pavilion and a saltwater swimming pool." The three-story house, built for Rome in '07, "features an elevator, a wine cellar and a wood-paneled lounge that contains a game room, a gym and a speakeasy-style bar." The home has six bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms and a "pair of executive offices sit within a dedicated wing, and there is tiered seating in the theater room" (LATIMES.com, 5/1).

HEADED FOR HOME: Baseball HOFer CAL RIPKEN JR. has dropped the price for his home in Baltimore County by nearly $3M to $9.75M. The 25,000-square-foot home "features six bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and five half baths." There is a "home theater with a box office, stage, candy counter and seating for 11, and an expansive kitchen designed to feed 100 guests" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 4/26)....Former MLBer TODD HOLLANDSWORTH sold his Barrington, Ill., home for $1.02M. The five-bedroom, 3,525-square-foot home has a "front porch that extends the width of the house; a wide center entry hall;" a finished basement and a "detached, two car garage" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 5/3).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Former NBAer LAMAR ODOM has listed his Pinecrest, Fla., home for sale at $5.2M. The Mediterranean-style estate, "situated on more than one acre, features a pool and spa, tennis/basketball court, home theater, bar and billiards room." The 8,557-square-foot home is "accessible through a two-story foyer with a pair of pillars and wrought-iron staircases on both sides" (SUN-SENTINEL.com, 5/2)....Golfer PAT PEREZ bought a home in Scottsdale, Ariz., for $3.93M. The 9,712-square-foot estate in the Canyon Heights area has "four bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, a trophy room, built-in office, game room, exercise room, full-size theater, wet bar and a one-bedroom guest house." The back yard is "primed for entertaining with heated spa and pool with water and fire features, a barbecue station and a full-size tennis and sport court" (AZCENTRAL.com, 5/1)....Former NFLer NICK BARNETT has sold his home in Carlsbad, Calif., for $2.2M. The master suite in the home "sports a glass-enclosed shower, a claw-foot tub and a wet bar." Other common areas "include formal living and dining rooms, a breakfast area with a mirrored ceiling and a wood-paneled office." A total of "six bedrooms and six bathrooms" are within 6,053 square feet of living space (LATIMES.com, 4/28).
