Facility Notes

BLOOMBERG NEWS' James Tarmy notes the soon-to-be-completed 16-story hotel and luxury condo development called the Sawyer, which is a part of Sacramento's Downtown Commons redevelopment, has added an "underground tunnel that runs from the building" directly to Golden 1 Center. The tunnel, which "runs from the residents’ parking garage to the stadium’s VIP lounge, will be accessible to all residents and their guests." Agency Development Group VP Christopher Miller said that ownership of any condominium at the Sawyer "comes with access to the VIP lounges for Kings home games" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 5/1).

SOAK UP THE SUNTRUST: In Marietta, Kimberly Nielson noted residents of the new condominium at The Battery Atlanta said that things have "gone smoothly at this mixed-use development just steps from SunTrust Park." Residents have "contended with big crowds, traffic worries and continued construction at the new residential, retail and dining development surrounding the stadium." Resident Chris Harken said that challenges "don't outweigh the benefits of living just steps away from games at SunTrust Park." Harken: "It's pretty awesome" (MDJONLINE.com, 4/29).

BECOMING A STAR: Former NFLer Robert Shaw said he, Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones and Pro Football HOFer Roger Staubach are "planning a high-rise" at The Star in Frisco. In Dallas, Steve Brown noted The Star has "filed plans with the city for a residential building with a 'minimum 17 stories.'" It is "too early in the planning process for details about the project" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 4/29).
