In N.Y., Maggie Haberman notes Golden Boy Promotions co-Founder & President Oscar De La Hoya is "broadcasting an ad to promote a Cinco de Mayo weekend match" between boxers of Mexican descent, Canelo Álvarez and Julio César Chávez Jr. The spot, being shown on DirecTV and Dish Network, "shows both men barreling through a concrete wall." De La Hoya said, "The idea of a wall was a direct hit to Donald Trump." He added, "This is letting him know that not every Mexican is what he’s stated they are. Mexicans are hard workers" (N.Y. TIMES, 4/11).

RECORD BREAKER: ADWEEK's Patrick Coffee noted the Jordan brand and creative agency R/GA, N.Y., "took the opportunity to celebrate" Thunder G Russell Westbrook breaking the NBA's single-season triple-double record on Sunday against the Nuggets. The resulting broadcast spot, which aired directly after the game, is both an homage to the previous record holder Basketball HOFer Oscar Robertson and a "recognition of Westbrook’s achievement (ADWEEK.com, 4/10).

FLYING HIGH: In South Carolina, Mandy Matney notes one of Boeing’s "most innovative, unique planes will make a special soaring appearance over Hilton Head this weekend." The company on Twitter announced that their 787-9 Dreamliner will "soar over the 18th green of RBC Heritage presented by Boeing on Saturday." Boeing has officially sponsored the event since '11. Last year, Boeing "extended a five-year title sponsorship of the Boeing Classic" through '21 (Hilton Head ISLAND PACKET, 4/11). Matney notes the centerpiece of Tito's Handmade Vodka sponsorship at the RBC Heritage is an "exciting new spot on the Heritage Lawn called Tito’s Stillhouse" (Hilton Head ISLAND PACKET, 4/11).
