FRAUD DEPARTMENT: Wichita State men's basketball coach GREGG MARSHALL was "one of the nearly 100 investors" who lost more than $21M in an alleged Ponzi Scheme. Another person involved in the scheme is former CBS broadcaster BILLY PACKER, who is "owed more than" $1.3M (CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.com, 4/7)....Las Vegas businessman and renowned gambler BILLY WALTERS was convicted on "fraud and conspiracy charges in one of the biggest insider trading trials in years." The investigation into Walters' activities and subsequent trial drew in PHIL MICKELSON (N.Y. TIMES, 4/8). 

JACK OF ALL TRADES: In Las Vegas, Jesse Granger profiled Golden Knights Senior VP MURRAY CRAVEN, who is "involved with nearly everything the team does, from architecture to player scouting." Team President KERRY BUBOLZ said, "He's doing a lot for us. He's wearing a lot of hats for us, and he's invaluable from that perspective." Craven has "overseen development" of the team's practice facility. It suits him, as his "retirement from the NHL led to dabbling in commercial real estate and construction" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 4/9)

NAMES: The single largest financial contribution in Auburn athletics history -- a $5M gift from the Raymond Harbert Family to "kick off fundraising for the Jordan-Hare Stadium south end zone renovation project -- was approved" by the university on Friday (OANOW.com, 4/7)....On Saturday, hundreds of guests "celebrated three decades of wish granting by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island" at the InterContinental Hotel Boston.
