Audience Analysis: NASCAR On Fox Down At Fontana With Elite Eight Competition

Fox saw a year-over-year dip for its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, as the race drew 5.18 million viewers, down from 6.81 million viewers in '16. Last year's race from Fontana aired a week earlier up against opening weekend NCAA Tournament play, compared to the Elite Eight this year. Two years ago, the Cup race at ACS drew 7.3 million viewers. Meanwhile, Dustin Johnson's win over Jon Rahm in the final of the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship on Sunday drew 2.27 million viewers on NBC. The final day of play in '16 drew 3.22 million viewers.
