YAHOO FINANCE's Daniel Roberts reported the Dolphins’ deal with DraftKings "expired" after Super Bowl 50 in '16 and was "not renewed." The Dolphins "do not currently have" any DFS partner. There are also additional NFL teams that "did not renew their deals with DraftKings when they expired: the Falcons, Raiders, Steelers, and Titans." As for FanDuel, the Rams "did not renew" when the team moved to L.A. (FINANCE.YAHOO.com, 3/29).

EVERYTHING'S BIGGER: TEXAS MONTHLY's Chris O'Connell in a cover story notes Rockets G James Harden is "no longer just an excellent basketball player, he is an entertainment brand, with a unique look and a style to match his game." With Tim Duncan’s retirement after last season, Mavericks F Dirk Nowitzki’s career winding down and Cowboys QB Tony Romo’s anticipated departure, Harden may just be the "hottest sports star in Texas." O'Connell notes when Harden had to choose a name for a limited edition of his Adidas sneaker, he decided, as a tribute his mother, Monja Willis, to "use a phrase from that letter that summed up the ambition she’d instilled in him." It was “Imma Be a Star" (TEXAS MONTHLY 4/'17 issue).

ENJOY THIS AD: RE/CODE's Kurt Wagner noted Twitter is going to start "making some money from Periscope, its livestreaming video service." Twitter will begin "selling pre-roll video ads to run ahead of some Periscope content." Ads will also "run before Periscope videos that are no longer live but still on Twitter." The ads are powered by Amplify, Twitter’s "existing pre-roll video ad product, which the company uses to run short commercials ahead of popular video, like NFL or NBA highlights" (RECODE.net, 3/28).
