    CBS Sports and Turner Sports combined for a 5.9 overnight rating on Thursday for the opening day of the NCAA Tournament across TBS, CBS, TNT and TruTV, marking the third highest-rated first Thursday since '91. Thursday's figure is up 5% from a 5.6 overnight for last year's coverage, but down 11% from a record-setting 6.6 in '15.  The first day drew a 6.0 overnight in '14. All three windows throughout the day saw ratings increases. The early window (noon-4:15pm ET) drew a 4.4 rating, up 5% from '16, while the afternoon (2:45-7:00pm) was up 16% with its 5.7 overnight.
