Comcast Sponsoring Team USA Property Highlighting Volleyball, Track, Swimming, Diving

New USOC sponsor Comcast has bulked up its rights, agreeing to become the presenting sponsor of the startup Olympic-themed property dubbed "Team USA Champions Series" through '20. The series, first piloted in December with a combined package of three winter broadcasts, is part of the USOC's ongoing efforts to keep the Olympic brand front of mind during the long gaps between Games. The series this year will feature the USA Volleyball collegiate beach championships in May, the USATF outdoor championships and USA Swimming’s national championships in June, and the USA Diving national championships in July and August. Each event will air on Comcast-owned NBCSN, with the track & field and swimming events each getting two weekend windows on the NBC broadcast channel. While the events are regularly scheduled competitions run by the sport governing bodies, they will include the unified "Team USA Champions Series" branding for the first time. Terms were not disclosed. Comcast became an official USOC partner in December, taking the internet, video distribution, wireless, home security and business services categories.
