A's President Kaval Lowers Beer Prices, Adds 40 New Concession Offerings For '17

A's President Dave Kaval yesterday said that the team will "lower beer prices" at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum this year to between $8-10, the "lowest-priced beer of any Bay Area pro teams," according to Jon Becker of the EAST BAY TIMES. All "premium and craft beers will be $10 and all domestic drafts will cost $8" (EAST BAY TIMES, 3/15). In S.F., Michelle Robertson notes a 12-ounce beer at the Coliseum cost $5 in '16, or "about $.43 an ounce." The discounted domestic beer will "cost three cents less per ounce." Meanwhile, a Coliseum "food revamp," spearheaded by Kaval, "serves up 40 new food offerings, including eight to 16 food trucks at every game." Even "classics like hotdogs have received a makeover, with the Shibe Park Tavern featuring 'colossal-sized dogs' smothered between buns from local bakery Le Boulanger." Other "gourmet offerings, such as sidewinder garlic fries and barbacoa nachos, will be menu mainstays." A's fans can also "get in on the foodie fun by tweeting or emailing suggestions for new menu items with the hashtag #athleticsfoodie." Each month, the A's will "choose the top five suggestions to then be voted upon by the public" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 3/15).
