Former Penn State AD TIM CURLEY and former Senior VP GARY SCHULTZ yesterday "pleaded guilty ... to endangering the welfare of children in the alleged JERRY SANDUSKY cover-up case." They each "pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count that carries a maximum possible penalty of a $10,000 fine and five years in prison." The judge overseeing the case said that there was "no agreement on the sentence they will receive" (PENNLIVE.com, 3/13).

TO BE FAIR: A new nonprofit foundation, Fair Sport, is "offering financial and legal assistance to whistle-blowers with information about cheating in international sports." The foundation is working with WADA and "plans to help protect and advise people who have evidence that could inform the agency’s investigations as well as related government investigations into bribery, corruption or drug trafficking." Fair Sport Founder JOHANN OLAV KOSS said that the foundation "hopes to raise" $3-5M this year. He said that a majority of the money will "go toward whistle-blower expenses" (N.Y. TIMES, 3/14).

GOING FOR THE KNOCKOUT: Film director PETER BERG's Wild Card West boxing gym in Santa Monica has "become a vibrant melting pot" that has grown to 100 members. In addition to Wild Card West, Berg has "formed a boxing management company" with actor MARK WALHBERG. He has signed boxer ALEX SAUCEDO and has "an interest in landing more." Berg: "In a business that’s really struggling with rivalries based on corporate competitions and egos, we strive to sidestep that." Berg added, "We’re not SoulCycle or Equinox. We have billionaires in here, Santa Monica SWAT, firefighters ... gangsters, housewives, kids. And pro fighters. Everyone gets along" (L.A. TIMES, 3/13).
