Players Revolution Sports’ EPLAY App Aims To Streamline Recreational Basketball Experience

Players Revolution Sports has announced the launching of a crowdsourcing campaign on Kickstarter on March 12 to promote an upcoming public beta release of its adult recreational sports management app called EPLAY, which pledges to “put the world of adult sports in the palm of your hand.”

“One in four adults in America play some form of recreational sports making it a billion dollar recurring revenue industry,” Ryan Girardot, President of Players Revolution Sports, said in a statement. “Amazingly, less than 25% of that market has been effectively serviced by the traditional adult recreational league system. We are putting the power directly in the hands of the participants, creating unlimited opportunity for growth and participation.”

The app’s initial focus will be the sport of basketball with players, venues and officials being matched with pickup games and structured leagues based upon skill level and budget. Scorekeeping and stat-tracking can be provided. If successful, the platform is designed to expand to other sports.

“The key to what we are going with EPLAY is integration and instant access of information on the go,” Chief Product Evangelist, Charles Gaines said in a statement. “There is no other resource like this that provides it all in one place. Not only do we allow individual players to facilitate their own games with stats that count toward national career standings, but they are no longer limited by traditional barriers. Any regulation-sized court will do – inside or out. Anywhere and anytime they want to play.”

EPLAY after concluding alpha-stage testing was recently selected by the Texas Legends, the NBA Development League team affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, to partner with and help manage its ongoing player evaluation and try-out process.

EPLAY will be a free app scheduled to be available on both iOS and Android platforms beginning May 6. There will be a Dallas/Fort Worth area-wide basketball tournament called Revolution Day to coincide with the public app launch.
