NFL Giants Increasing Season-Ticket Prices For '17; Patriots, Jets Won't Raise Costs

The NFL Giants yesterday announced a season-ticket price increase for the '17 season, and with the exception of Field 1 seats, this marks the "first overall increase" for non-club PSL owners since the Giants moved into MetLife Stadium in '10, according to Paul Schwartz of the N.Y. POST. The increase averages 4% across the board. Tickets will "increase $10 per game for Field 1 pricing (lower level between the 30-yard lines on the west side of the stadium) and increase $5 per game for all other non-club tickets." All club ticket prices "remain the same." Preseason game pricing remains approximately 50% of regular-season pricing (N.Y. POST, 3/8). In Newark, Dan Duggan notes the increase comes after the Giants "had their best home record in the seven-year history of MetLife Stadium last season" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 3/8).

CRUISE CONTROL: In N.Y., Seth Walder reports the Jets are keeping season-ticket prices flat in '17. The Jets are also "continuing their Jets Rewards program and variable ticket pricing depending on the opponent date and time of the game" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/8). Also in N.Y., Brian Costello notes the Jets are "giving season-ticket holders a 'signing bonus' this year." Upon their renewal, they will "get $20-$100 per seat in 'Jets Cash' to spend on food and merchandise at the stadium." It will be "interesting to see how Jets ticket sales fare this year" after a disappointing '16 season and the "recent cuts of some of their better-known veterans." The team has not made the playoffs since '10 (N.Y. POST, 3/8).

MODEL FRANCHISE: PRO FOOTBALL TALK's Mike Florio reported the Patriots' season-ticket renewals went out last week and "reflect no increases" for '17 (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 3/7).
