Adidas Unveils "Create Yours" Collection Of School Uniforms In Time For March Madness

Adidas "unveiled its new 'Create Yours' men’s collection" yesterday in time for the company's college endorsers to use the uniforms for conference tournaments, according to Kyle Boone of CBSSPORTS.com. The line, which "includes new tops, shorts, shoes and socks," will be worn by Arizona State, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Nebraska and Texas A&M. Only three of those teams -- Miami, Kansas, and Louisville -- are "currently projected in the NCAA Tournament field" (CBSSPORTS.com, 3/6). Kansas' jerseys, shorts and basketball shoes "incorporate the university’s history and identity into their design." The school's uniforms "feature the school’s famous chant, 'Rock Chalk Jayhawk' on the bottom edge of each jersey, which also pays homage to the team's five national titles, with a list of each championship year inside the neck" (LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD, 3/7). Miami's uniforms have "shoe graphics pattered after the Doppler radar, school-themed hashtags and 'French terry wipe-zones' for players’ hands" (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 3/6). In Louisville, Jeff Greer notes Louisville "won't be wearing sleeves or infrared gear this March." Adidas also "ditched the cummerbund look on Louisville's shorts in favor of diagonal Cardinal wing down the backside" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 3/7).
