Pohlad "Not Happy" With Twins' Ticket Sales Following Worst Season In Team History

Twins Owner Jim Pohlad said the team is "not happy" with ticket sales after the worst season in franchise history, according to Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. Pohlad: "We’ve hurt our brand over the last few years and so sales, particularly if they’re a good measure, season ticket sales have declined and we’re not happy about that." Asked what the team has to do to get people interested, Pohlad said the Twins "have to win." Pohlad: "They have to win more games. I think they were an exciting team last year, filled with young players that people wanted to see, but nothing takes the place of winning." Pohlad added last year "was a tougher year" financially. Pohlad: "No question about it, and the projections and budget for this year, we didn't go wild, we weren't wildly optimistic with it. So financially results aren't where we want them to be" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 3/5).
