Mac Attack: Special McDonald's Paint Scheme To Appear On McMurray's Car At Clash

Chip Ganassi Racing will run a special McDonald’s paint scheme in this Saturday’s Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona Int’l Speedway that promotes the QSR’s re-launched Mac menu. McDonald’s last month rolled out two new sizes for the Big Mac -- the Mac Jr., which is smaller and without a middle bread layer, as well as a Grand Mac, which is larger still than the traditional Big Mac. The chain will promote the new sizes on Jamie McMurray’s No. 1 Chevy, which will feature references to the different burgers throughout the car. McDonald's has sponsored the No. 1 car since '10. McDonald’s Head of Global Alliances John Lewicki said another McDonald’s program that will be featured on a special paint scheme on the No. 1 car this season is for the 40th anniversary of the McDonald’s All American Games high school basketball competition. McDonald’s handles its NASCAR marketing in-house. The Clash, which airs at 8:00pm ET Saturday on FS1, is an exhibition race that starts the season before the first points race in the Daytona 500 is held one week from this Sunday.
