FOX Sports Stream Of Super Bowl LI Has Hiccups

Late in the game during an exciting Super Bowl LI, FOX Sports experienced a “streaming issue” that was quickly resolved.

With the game coming down to the wire and the New England Patriots in the midst of completing a comeback, some viewers who were watching on FOX Sports GO couldn’t bear to miss any of the action. Many on social media reported using the Spanish language stream instead and finding success. Others unfortunately had to wait it out.

FOX Sports GO also reported the game that some Roku users might not be seeing ads — a highlight for some during the Super Bowl — and asked those users to relaunch the app to fix the issue.

This was no small issue, of course. Before the game, FOX Sports had announced that it would collaborate with 170 FOX affiliates around the country on local ad insertions in the Super Bowl stream so that they would make commercials “even more relevant,” according to FOX Sports executive Eric Shanks.
