MLB on Friday at its quarterly owners meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., elected Astros Owner JIM CRANE and Padres Exec Chair RON FOWLER to the league’s Exec Council. The two replace Twins Owner JIM POHLAD and Cardinals Chair & CEO BILL DEWITT JR., who each had expiring terms. Fowler last year played a key role in the league’s new CBA agreement as head of MLB’s Labor Committee (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer).

EXECS: The USGA elected President DIANA MURPHY to a second one-year term (USGA)....The NWHL Players’ Association named ANYA BATTAGLINO Dir (EXCELLESPORTS.com, 2/2)....The Univ. of South Carolina named AL.com Senior Managing Producer JUSTIN KING Associate AD/New & Creative Media (South Carolina)....The Rays named former MLBer ORESTES DESTRADE Dir of Baseball & Community Outreach with "broad responsibilities including expanding the Hispanic market." Destrade will "continue his work" as a Fox Sports MLB analyst (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 2/5).
