NHL Average Home Attendance Relatively Flat Headed Into All-Star Weekend

NHL average attendance is relatively flat leading into All-Star Weekend. Clubs are averaging 17,398 fans per game with the Blackhawks leading the way for a ninth consecutive season. To date, 15 clubs are at or above 100% capacity. The Oilers, who moved into the larger-capacity Rogers Center this season from Rexall Place, are averaging 18,347 fans, up a league-best 9%. Attendance at Nationwide Arena for the Blue Jackets, second in the Eastern Conference standings, is up 6.2%. In a December matchup against the Capitals, the Flyers set a new regular-season Wells Fargo Center attendance record with 20,011 fans. Teams with noticeable declines this season are the Senators (-9.5%) and Avalanche (-6.6%).
