TicketIQ Developing Voice-Activated Function For SB Tix Using Amazon's Alexa

N.Y.-based ticket aggregator TicketIQ has developed a new voice-activated data function for Super Bowl tickets using Amazon’s Alexa platform. The new service, set to debut next week, is part of a larger analytics platform TicketIQ has developed for the game currently in beta and incorporates zone-level seating data and real-time travel and hotel data from Priceline.com. The voice-powered searches will also include content from former NFLer and current Fox analyst Daryl Johnston, who has an existing relationship with TicketIQ. The company’s interest in using the Alexa platform extends a quickly accelerating interest across the sports industry in the technology, and comScore estimates that as much of 50% of all online searches will be voice-powered by ’20. “We’re obviously all about data and trends, and this is another tool to help tell that story,” said Ticket IQ CEO & Founder Jesse Lawrence. TicketIQ will be part of the Alexa Skills marketplace of third-part apps for the Amazon Echo device.
