Clash City Rockers: Advance Auto Parts To Title-Sponsor NASCAR's Season Opener

Advance Auto Parts will serve as the title sponsor for the season-opening non-points Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona Int'l Speedway, the Clash. The deal is for multiple years and a source said DIS was asking low to mid-six figures annually for the entitlement. The 75-lap race, which will be known as the Advance Auto Parts Clash, was most recently known as the Sprint Unlimited under former entitlement partner Sprint. It was originally called the Busch Clash in ’79 and later the Budweiser Shootout. ISC-owned DIS announced in late November that the race was reverting back to the Clash name, but had been searching for a title sponsor since. The race will be held Feb. 18, eight days before the Daytona 500. Virginia-based Advance Auto Parts has a large profile in motorsports, as it already sponsors the No. 88 Xfinity Series Chevy, Kentucky Speedway, NHRA driver Courtney Force and the IndyCar Radio Network.
