Missouri Taps IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions For Outbound Sales Amid Sagging Attendance

The Univ. of Missouri "finalized a contract Friday with IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions," a joint venture between IMG College and Learfield Sports, which will "have a 13-person team that serves as Missouri’s outbound ticket sales unit, something MU hasn’t had previously," according to Blake Toppmeyer of the COLUMBIA DAILY TRIBUNE. Missouri Exec Associate AD/External Relations Brian White said that the outbound sales team will "work on campus -- calling potential season-ticket buyers -- and likely will begin duties around late February." That outbound sales team will "complement Missouri’s ticket operations staff, whose existing duties preclude them from focusing on outbound sales." Missouri’s outbound sales team will "work to generate sales for all sports, not just football and men’s basketball." Missouri "averaged 52,236 fans for its seven home football games" in '16, a nearly 20% drop from '15 and its "lowest average home attendance figure of this millennium" (COLUMBIA DAILY TRIBUNE, 1/8).
