The Grinch Who Stole Christmas: Cowboys Fans Upset About Late, Canceled Orders

Several Cowboys fans took to social media to complain about items "ordered through the official, online Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop" that were either lost, canceled or simply "didn't make it" to their houses in time for Christmas, according to Karen Robinson-Jacobs of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The Pro Shop is "run by the Cowboys organization." Cowboys Media Relations & Corporate Communications Coordinator Joe Trahan said "hundreds of additional workers were hired" in anticipation of the holiday season, as well as in response to the 13-3 season. He said, "A weekend holiday can sometimes contribute to a slowdown in delivery, but we have had very few reported cases of customers not receiving their orders on time." However, Robinson-Jacobs notes many fans felt "bitter and burned" by the team. Ohio resident Chrissy Kaminski on Dec. 8 ordered an Ezekiel Elliott shirt that "was guaranteed for delivery by Christmas." However, she said, "They canceled my order without telling me." She added she was told via a Facebook message they "oversold the jersey and they're not getting enough in until late January so they just canceled people's orders." The Cowboys "offered a 15 percent discount on a future order." But Kaminski said, "You have to call customer service to use it and customer service never answers." Trahan said that this "has been the 'biggest and busiest year in team history,' for merchandise sales." He "declined to give a dollar total or say how much the increase was from last year or the previous record" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 12/31).

PACK MENTALITY: In Milwaukee, Dan Egan reports Packers fans yesterday were "streaming into the Packers Pro Shop" at Lambeau Field and "snatching up all the NFL North Division champions baseball hats by noon." More divisional championship gear is "expected to arrive in the next couple of days." The Packers clinched the NFC North title after beating the Lions on Sunday night (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 1/3).
