NHL Network, MLB Network Cross-Promoting Monday's Winter Classic At Busch Stadium

The ’17 Winter Classic is set to be played at Busch Stadium on Monday, and NHL Network and MLB Network are cross-promoting the event, including installing a 20’ x 40’ replica ice rink inside the headquarters that the two networks share. The replica rink will be used by NHL Network’s three weekday studio shows -- "NHL Now," "NHL Tonight" and "On the Fly" -- allowing for on-air segments and demos, said NHL Network Senior Coordinating Producer Josh Bernstein. Analysts from the two nets will also be pitted against each other in hockey and baseball skill competitions, which will see talent including NHL Network's Brian Lawton and Kevin Weekes and MLB Network's Eric Byrnes and Harold Reynolds face off. A similar rink was constructed for the ’16 Stadium Series games last February. Additionally, NHL Network will air pre- and postgame on-site coverage of the ’17 Winter Classic in St. Louis, as well as air the alumni game for the Centennial Classic that will be played on Saturday. Both social media accounts for the two nets will promote the coverage around these events and the in-studio rink, which will be used through Monday.
