Samsung Smart TVs To Enable Sports Fans To Personalize Experience, Track Favorite Teams

Samsung Smart TV ‘Sports’

Samsung announced Tuesday it would introduce a new smart TV service called “Sports” that offers personalized content to consumers.

The “Sports” service provides fans with information on when their favorite MLB, NFL and NBA teams are playing, what channels they are on and what the scores are, all on one navigation page rather than having to flip through channels.

Samsung also plans to expand its content through the “Sports” service with content partners including NBC Sports — which offers Premier League — and also UFC.

Already, Apple TV had enabled sports fans to personalize their viewing experience by using Siri to take them straight to live events and check scores and stats. Now it’s the television manufacturer that is making things easier on the fan as well.

“At Samsung, one of our top priorities is ensuring that we are closely in tune with what consumers want and need from their smart devices and electronics,” Won Jin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. “With that in mind, we continue to innovate our Smart TV offering in order to provide the content experiences that our customers have come to know and expect from Samsung.”
