How Under Armour’s Health, Fitness Community Performed In 2016

MyFitnessPal, MapMyFitness or Endomondo are all owned by Under Armour now.

Under Armour recently highlighted data from its connected fitness community, which now includes more than 190 million worldwide users and consists of workout apps and platforms like MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun, UA Record and Endomondo.

With 2016 winding down, here is some information from the 800 million workouts tracked by Under Armour along with a detailed infographic illustrating some of the key takeaways.

1) Under Armour users walked 750 million miles in 2016, the equivalent of 30,000 trips around the globe or 1.5 trillion steps.

2) Individuals aged 25-44 logged 57 percent of all workouts recorded.

3) The top five workouts logged were running, walking, cycling, weight training and aerobics; the average run logged was 3.1 miles.

4) The average sleep time tracked was 6.9 hours.

5) Hiking was the fastest-growing activity this year, with a almost a 80 percent increase from workouts logged in 2015.

6) Eggs, coffee and bananas were the top three recorded foods among Under Armour community users.
