HELLO: NEXT ON THE TEE
The PGA Tour made its latest transition this year as its policy board unanimously approved the appointment of Jay Monahan to replace Tim Finchem as commissioner. Monahan joined the Tour in ’08 and had been serving as Deputy Commissioner and COO since ’14. He will have a tough act to follow, as Finchem’s tenure -- spanning 22 years -- has generally been viewed as a resounding success. Monahan is the fourth individual to take over the role of Commissioner in the Tour’s 47-year history.

Nike’s Phil Knight
retires as Board Chair, ending a five-decade career with the company. Knight resigned in ’04 as CEO and stayed on as BOD Chair. Mark Parker, who worked alongside Knight for 40 years, was chosen as his replacement. Knight took on the role of Chair Emeritus, which enables him to attend board meetings as an observer.
