Virtual Reality Firm Strivr Labs Announces $5M Round Of Funding To Further Sports Expansion

VR firm Strivr Labs yesterday disclosed that it raised $5M in an "initial round of funding to expand further into sports and the workplace," according to Betsy Morris of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. The funding group is led by Signia Venture Partners and "includes BMW AG's iVenture's unit and Advancit Capital." Strivr "uses proprietary software to develop training programs, sometimes based on team training manuals." The VR "isn't interactive -- Strivr is working to develop that capability." Strivr's customers "include seven pro teams ... as well as 13 college teams and one high school team." The company has "begun working with five corporate customers on virtual-reality training" (WSJ.com, 12/14).
