Sources: Bucks' Wes Edens Becomes Latest NBA Owner Buying Into E-Sports

Bucks co-Owner WES EDENS is "in the process of purchasing" e-sports team Cloud9 Challenger's League Championship Series spot and the "contracts of four of the team's players" for roughly $2.5M, according to sources cited by Jacob Wolf of ESPN.com. The deal is "pending Riot Games' vetting process and approval." Sources said that the spot "alone reportedly is selling" for $1.8M, with player contract rights "making up for the remaining $700,000 via buyouts." Sources have "not indicated what the name or brand behind the team will be." This deal would make Edens the "fourth NBA-related owner currently" in the North American LCS. He would be a part of a group including Grizzlies co-Owner STEVE KAPLAN, Warriors co-Owner PETER GUBER and the 76ers (ESPN.com, 12/8).
