Patriots Could Play Raiders In Mexico Next Season; Ravens In Consideration For London

The Patriots could face the Raiders at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City "at some point" during the '17 season, according to John Sutcliffe of ESPN Deportes. Sutcliffe during Monday night's Packers-Eagles broadcast said that Patriots Owner Robert Kraft is "very interested in the possibility of playing in Mexico City." Having the Raiders return to Mexico City is also "consistent with team owner Mark Davis telling ESPN Mexico's Toque Inicial that he was keen on the club making visits to the country a regular occurrence." The Raiders have one of the "largest fan bases for any NFL franchise south of the border" (ESPN.com, 11/29). Meanwhile, in Baltimore, Jeff Zrebiec reported the Ravens have "been informed by the NFL that they are under consideration" to play a '17 road game against the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London. The Ravens are "one of only eight teams who have yet to play outside" the U.S. since the Int'l Series began in '07. The Ravens per their deal with the Maryland Stadium Authority are "not allowed to play a home game away from M&T Bank Stadium," but team officials "have long said that they’d welcome playing a road game in London." The NFL "has yet to announce" all the teams that will play overseas in '17. The league last year "announced the schedule of international games for the following season in November" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 11/29). Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti last year estimated that there was a 75-80% chance of the Ravens playing in London by '19 (ESPN.com, 11/29).
