ESPN Draws Lowest Week 11 "MNF" Rating Since '07 With Texans-Raiders From Mexico

ESPN last night drew an 8.1 overnight rating for the Raiders’ 27-20 win over the Texans from Mexico City, marking the lowest-rated Week 11 “MNF” broadcast since Titans-Broncos posted a 7.2 rating in '07. The 8.1 rating from 8:15-11:58pm ET is down from a 10.0 for Bills-Patriots in Week 11 last year, and down from an 8.5 for Steelers-Titans in ’14. Last night’s telecast peaked at a 9.2 rating from 9:45-10:00pm and is likely to deliver ESPN a primetime win among all nets. The game drew a 24.9 local rating in Houston (14.6 on ESPN, 10.3 on KIAH-CW). The S.F.-Oakland-San Jose market drew a 15.9 local rating (5.1 on ESPN, 10.8 on KGO-ABC). Rounding out the top markets were Denver (14.9), Sacramento (13.6) and San Diego (12.7) (Austin Karp, Assistant Managing Editor).

NOT IMPRESSED: In Philadelphia, Dick Jerardi wrote he was "hoping to hear some perspective" from CBS analyst Phil Simms during Sunday's Eagles-Seahawks game, but instead heard "many words and zero context." Simms has become a "Master of the Obvious," as he "watches what just happened and tells everybody what they just saw." Jerardi: "I want the analyst to tell me something I don't know, either about a play, a player or a team. Simms almost never does" (PHILLY.com, 11/21).
