Overnight Ratings: NASCAR Sees 25% Drop For Johnson's Win At Cup Series Finale

Jimmie Johnson secured his seventh NASCAR Cup Series title yesterday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and NBC drew a 3.2 overnight rating for the finale. That figure is down 25% from last year on NBC, but up 14% from ESPN in ’14. While this year had Johnson’s historic win and the last race for Tony Stewart, last season saw the finale for Jeff Gordon (still in contention as well) and also saw the race push into primetime after a rain delay.

GO B1G OR GO HOME: Ohio State-Michigan State in the 12:00pm ET window on Saturday easily led all Week 12 college football games, with ESPN drawing a 4.2 overnight for the game. Indiana-Michigan on ESPN in the 3:30pm window was No. 2 with a 3.2 overnight. The top game on broadcast TV was ABC's primetime window featuring Oklahoma-West Virginia, which drew a 2.5 overnight.
